Under
the Sales Program, the facility requirements are the same, however, there
is some differences in availability of the animals. The sale price varies
depending on the number of animals you are able to take. If you take 4 or
less, the cost is usually $25 each. If you are able to provide a good home
for 4 or more, the cost is usually $10 each. We will deliver loads of 20
horses directly to you.
To adopt, you can attend an adoption event; - here is the schedule
www.blm.gov/pgdata/content/wo/en/prog/wild_horse_and_burro/events.html
The BLM conducts these satellite adoptions year around at different
locations; or you can visit one of our facilities
http://www.blm.gov/wo/st/en/prog/wild_horse_and_burro/adoption_of_wild_horses/facility__adoptions.html
You will be able
to fill out and get your application form approved at the event.
We also offer wild horses and burros over the internet at different times
of the year. You can view these animals at
www.blm.gov/adoptahorse.
If you are interested in purchasing older wild horses, you would have to
call our office directly to discuss the purchases. Our phone number is 1
800 710-7597. I usually suggest that when trying to decide if you should
adopt or purchase, to look at what you wish to use the animal for. The
younger animals will gentle down and train faster than an older ones.
Thanks again, and please let us know if you have additional questions.
